Miracles While At GUN POINT!?

Image
Sheesh it has been a week! This week was amazing and just as I thought there was no new experiences for me to have Shreveport just proves otherwise! We found a lot of new people this week and put two people on date to be baptized on June 25th so hopefully those happen and I can see them get baptized before I go home! One of the lady's that we put in date is named Dalila and when we went back for our second lesson something a little interesting happened. After I knocked in the door some guy inside yelled WHO IS IT!? We said the missionaries and he poked his head out the screen door we asked him if Dalila was home and he said no but I'll go call her. As he is walking away I see in his hand a GUN! literally this man had a glock with an extended magazine that held probably 40 rounds! After he knew who we were he was chill but he came out guns blazon ready to fight. You gotta be ready for anything down here in shreeeeve. For my spiritual thought I invite you to go read Alma chapter ...

Returning Missionary

Dear Parents,     Your son, Elder Thomas, will be released from the Texas Dallas East Mission on 29 Jun 2022.  Elder  Thomas has served a successful mission and completed a wonderful work here in the Texas Dallas East Mission. He has been blessed with great communication skills and insight that will benefit and bless him throughout his life as he  uses them wisely.  As he  has served in the Texas Dallas East Mission, he has been obedient and diligent and has shown great love to those he  has served and to the Lord.     It has been a choice experience for Sister Seitz and I to work with him and to see him grow to become an effective missionary in the hands of our Heavenly Father.  We are proud of him and have truly grown to love him.  Through his service, he has developed habits which will bless and help him throughout his life. He has served faithfully and blessed the lives of his  companions and all whom he has taught. ...

Howdy hey! I don't even know where to begin, it has been a crazy week. Although I was very sad to leave Gilmer, Shreveport is going to make for a very interesting last 6 weeks of my mission. My new companion is Elder Curtis and he is from Arizona and this is his 3rd transfer so he is pretty new but a hard working missionary! Tuesday was transfers and I was fun to see so many missionaries and say goodbye to one of my companions Elder Park he went home. We got in N out burger and that was the first time I have had it in 2 years it was pretty bomb, we than started our 3.5 hour journey back to Shreveport and we got here about 5:30 and just settled in and unpacked and went shopping and such. Our apartment is super nice! I want to share a couple cool experiences from this week. As I said I had a hard to time leaving Gilmer and coming to Shreve but I just have to say that God knows exactly how we are feeling and is always there to give aid and comfort us when we are sad. Transfers feels l...

Howdy yall! Welcome the the weekly of Elder Thomas, we have had a great week and a sad week. Let me tell you all about it. Last Monday night my throat started hurting but ya know we gotta work so we worked all day Tuesday and than we woke up Wednesday and all 4 of us were sick and so we stayed inside all day and played card games so that we wouldn't go out and get anyone sick we went and got texted and it was strep or covid or the flu so It was just a bug going around. On Thursday we got a call and as I mention before sarah a 15 year old girl we are teaching that was supposed to get baptized this Saturday she had a fake brain tumor so basically a build of spinal fluid behind her eyes and they said that they would have to drain or put her in medication but it wasn't that bad. After they looked at it more they called saying they needed to do emergency surgery and she was admitted into the ER on Thursday we went and gave her a blessing and than they drive her to Dallas and permorm...

Howdy hey! Sorry I didn't send an email last week but that was an amazing week we saw so many miracles and taught so many lessons and found a lot of new people! This week was awesome too, we did a lot of service for the members that we are staying with. They cut down a tree and we helped them split it up into fire wood! We had interviews with President and Sister Seitz this week and they were here in Gilmer so we invited them to a lesson with Sarah and it was awesome. We taught the word of wisdom and Sarah was shocked about coffee but she stood up and went and threw all of her coffee away! On more sad news sarag found out she might have a brain tumor behind her eye she is having an mri done tomorrow to find out more but please pray for Sarah. She is still getting baptized this Saturday and she is so excited about that! Funny story time! Elder Thompson and I were doing companionship study at a ice cream shop named uncle Joe's and this lady walked in and we asked her if she would...
